Identity and Symbolic Order, 2018
The artist presents themself as a pure object, placing it within the field – the
social world which is constituted by the signification of symbols and
functioning as a machine. By carrying symbols (gimp mask, business suit, silk
stockings, high heel, silicone breast, the body) through an act of climbing to be
contemplated as hilarious, obscure performance art and be identified as
various representations of distinctiveness and characterisation, the artist
endeavour to reveal the deterritorialization of subjectivity and the dilemma of
today’s identity politics, accidentally and ironically, the performance ceased in
a submissive situation, but it opens and discloses its significance through the
audiences’ act of viewing and reflection approaching the archival documents.
